Expatriate Position, South East Asia, 24/18 Roster *.

Our Client operates a complex Mining & Processing operation in SE Asia.

The primary responsibility of the Senior Mining Engineer is to oversee the development of the incumbent Mining & Geology Technical Services Superintendent to ultimately function fully independently.

Reporting to the Mining & Geology Manager the focus will initially be to establish a training competency matrix for the M&G Technical Services Superintendent which will include OP optimisation, resource and reserve definition, economic study review of OP, LOM scheduling and cut off review. Mining software being utilised is Surpac, Minesched & Whittle.

Further position specifics include;

• Monitoring long-term plans and forecasts, coordinating and managing all aspects of the technical services support function on site to provide clear direction to both Mine operations and Commercial functions.
• Review design work for operational requirements ranging from pit and dump design and optimize scheduling, water management and pit development design.
• Be a member of the Due Diligence team assessing projects for potential acquisition.
• Annual Budget and Quarterly forecasting in Minesched.
  

It is anticipated candidates be appropriately Degree Qualified with expatriate experience in a similar function highly regarded. A superior degree of technical knowledge is key to success in this role and a broad understanding of the functioning of other departments in the operation is required. Coupled with a positive, willing attitude you will possess strong analytical capabilities and be a strategic thinker. We are preferably seeking candidates with both open pit and underground experience.

Please note the roster cited will be reverted to when international travel returns to a normal footing. In the interim our client is happy to negotiate a roster that works for the successful candidate and the business.
