About The Role

The Production Engineer will assist in delivering professional process consultancy. You will coordinate the development, implementation, and maintenance of elements of the Grundfos Production System (GPS) and related Continous Improvement activities within the Oceania area. This role will identify waste in key end-to-end manufacturing and business processes and create executable plans to remove these wastes from the process. You will control production activities, material flow, and inventory to achieve cost and quality target and production schedules

The Production Engineer will provide advice to all staff, on all matters relating to the GPS. You will also perform improvement workshops (e.g. Kaizen events) and communicate with relevant stakeholders until all actions are complete

We are looking for talented people with a ‘can-do’ attitude and a strong customer service approach to join our Grundfos family in Adelaide, Australia. The Production Engineer will report directly to the Manufacturing Engineer Manager.

Key Activities:

  • Coordinate the local implementation of Group GPS strategy and targets
  • Drive Kaizen events to support the Continuous Improvement process
  • Coordinate internal and external 5S audits and Measure, monitor, evaluate and improve outcomes of these audits
  • Ensure all relevant Areas are included in the 5S Audit system and areas are updated.
  • Monitor the Hourly Count (how many good parts we produce by the hour) and the OPR (Operating Performance Ratio), ensure an optimal process compared to 'planned production time' has been achieved
  • Conduct Multi Moment Analyses to confirm routing times and as step identify waste in process steps
  • Maintain the Improvement Proposal System and ensure processing of proposals within relevant company KPI’s
  • Prepare and facilitate DAM (Daily Action Meetings) for APU managers, operations managers, etc.
  • Support Totem meetings (facilitated by operators)
  • Prepare CAPEX investment proposal and provide input in the 5-year plan
  • Deliver communication and non-accredited training on Continuous Improvement tools, policies, and processes with relevant stakeholders
  • Coordinate and participate in Continuous Improvement and Production Meetings.
  • Provide support in maintaining and optimizing Standard Operating procedures (SOPs) and establish Standard Work (SW) in all manufacturing area
  • Conduct inductions for new employees in areas of the GPS
  • Maintain Quick Response Quality Control (QRQC) Line boards and work on preventative quality assurance activities with the QM department
  • Participate and lead 8D-CAPA and 4C-CAPA investigation
  • Provide support for the Sales Certified document management system.
  • Any other reasonable duties as requested, commensurate with the position.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Degree in Business Administration, Engineering or relevant field is mandatory

  • Preferably at least 1-2 years relevant work experience. Fresh graduates who are passionate to learn Production process are highly encouraged to apply
  • Completed or working towards completion of a Green Belt Lean Six Sigma accreditation
  • Relevant work experience in an engineering role preferably gained within automation, manufacturing, or industrial environment is an advantage
  • Formal qualification in internal audit and risk management ISO9001 is an advantage
  • Solid Knowledge of lean tools such as 5S, 7W, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), etc.
  • Hold and retain a current driver’s license is an advantage
