The Role

Our industry leading remedial team requires a high-performing, Remedial Engineer to join us in our Canberra office. This is an excellent opportunity to excel in your career within an established consultancy renowned for fostering a great work culture.

The diagnostic & remedial industry forms part of the broader industry of asset management. This role has a focus on the diagnosis & remediation of physical asset defects, particularly waterproofing, structural strengthening and building facades. The role often requires a passion for finding simple engineering solutions to a variety of problems.

An exciting part of the role is to be the first member remedial team based in Canberra/ACT.. We already have multiple projects and clients in Canberra remedial market.

Key components of this role include, but are not limited to assisting with the following:

  • Leading remedial projects across various sectors, which includes being responsible for the technical delivery and direct communication with the client.
  • Reporting to the remedial group based in Sydney
  • Develop skills in business development including preparation of proposals
  • You will have the opportunity to develop a career plan with your manager that ensures development to your full potential.

The Candidate

Applications are sought from candidates with the following attributes:

  • 2-5 years of experience working as a remedial engineering consultant in the Australian market
  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering
  • Experience in relevant Australian standards and NCC
  • Extensive experience in building defects inspection and reporting
  • Proven experience working on building projects across multiple sectors
  • Accountability to set goals and drive to their fulfilment – someone who can keep the team motivated and moving!
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong team ethic to work collaboratively across functional groups
  • Familiar with financial management of projects internally is highly valued
  • IRATA Level 1 qualified if possible
