Position Number: F2021/00155
Salary: $93,266 - $102,619 + 9.5% super + leaseback vehicle
Status: Permanent full-time (70 hours per fortnight)

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Building Surveyor to join our Health, Building and Regulatory Services department. The primary purpose of this position is to provide quality, customer focused, and professional building and compliance related regulatory functions and services to our community.

Things you will do:

Act as an ‘authorised/investigation officer’ and implement regulatory building, development control and fire safety functions.
Implement regulatory programs and assess and determine applications, certificates, and action requests.
Issue notices, orders, and penalty infringement notices.
Undertake inspections and assessments of premises to ascertain compliance with relevant regulatory requirements.
Prepare reports on proposed and existing buildings and prepare statements of evidence for Court proceedings, representing Council in court where required.
Negotiate and resolve building and compliance related issues to achieve satisfactory outcomes.
Respond to and resolve customer enquiries in a timely and professional manner.
Contribute positively to the effective operation of the department.
