JOB DESCRIPTION
The primary objective of a Base-station Deployment Engineer is to support all programs with the interactions with Optus systems to ensure on time delivery in line with RAN schedule. Your responsibilities will include:
Support project teams in the delivery of all programs of work by providing the interactions with Optus systems and tools
Engineering Order (EO) End-to-End Management Monitor Engineering Orders in Helix
Across all programs - Forecast Prime EOs, analyse scope, validate scope with BTS design and RFNSA, raise/modify EO in Helix system, maintain EO tracker, foresee risks and follow up EO tasks, signing off tasks in Gantt Chart/Scheduler.
Assign bandwidth, assign carrier frequencies, create/modify Cell IDs for mobile sites.
Follow up Prime EOs with Optus Design and Provisioning Team to get end-to-end transmission ready before mobile integration and escalate any transmission issues.
Permission to Work (PTW) End-to-End Management
Raise PTWs, follow up for PTW/CR/CMART approval with OPE, SRPQ, GDC team and OPE Manager to approve PTWs. Maintain PTW Tracker and notify the status to build team.
Generate EOF, Tx HLD and analyse downstream sites and Optus Business (OB) Customers that will be affected during power and major system upgrade in Hub/Aggregator Sites.
Site Data Records (SDR) End-to-End Management: Collect site information from Optus Database (MNIS/Helix/Deployment Master/SSR/FR/FC/Redlines), create SDR, respond to queries. Update SDR with WHS, Site Access, Power, Tower/Antenna, Lad-Saf information.
Material Call Off: Forecast and equipment call off request in Meerkat System (SAP), coordinating with Optus and Huawei Networks Supply Chain team to ensure materials are delivered on time
Coordinate with Optus Cell ID team to maintain consistency between live network and Optus MNIS database and take corrective actions, if any mismatch is found.
Actualizing Milestones in Optus MNIS system after Site is Integrated and Cells unlocked/on air
Coordinate with RIC team build team and RF team to carry out deployment and deal with ad-hoc complex transmission issues.
Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or Business are required as well as a minimum 7 years experience in a similar role. Previous experience working with Optus is also highly desirable. To be successful in this position you’ll be a self-starter with solid leadership skills and demonstrated experience working to tight timeframes. Your exceptional interpersonal skills and collaborative nature will help you develop authentic relationships with clients and stakeholders.
