Job Description
- To lead, manage & fully develop sales opportunities.
- Manage local Key Accounts that fall within product portfolio.
- Maintain a level of knowledge of day-to-day market developments and accurately assess the opportunities available.
- Initiate action to take advantage of valid well researched opportunities.
- Plan, develop and implement strategies to drive products into accounts and potential accounts within portfolio.
- Identify key decision makers within organisations and market company products to them with the intent of having products specified for use.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key consultants and contractors.
- Review the performance of key accounts and continually work with them, addressing their issues to maximise sales opportunities.
- Actively promote a positive image of the business in all categories.
- Keep up to date with new product releases and ensure that these are appropriately delivered to customers.
- Prepare proposals, respond to tenders and supervise agreements with customers.
- Liaise with the Accounts Department regarding customer credit limits & debt collection.
The Successful Applicant
Knowledge, Qualifications And/Or Experience:
- Proven successful record of field sales achievement
- A background in technical sales & account management.
- Commercially astute with strong business acumen.
- An electrical engineering or industrial engineering background or trade exposure
Skills And Competence:
- A high level of written & oral communication, negotiation and selling skills Results/Achievement orientation, Teamwork and co-operation.
- Time management, particularly the ability to prioritise.
- Interpersonal understanding, e.g. the ability to relate well to all types of people.
- Relationship building with customers, Sales presentation, Professional approach.
- Planning and organisational skills, Project management.
