Our client provides active adventure solutions for play centres, indoor climbing facilities, gyms and the military. Due to expansion they are looking for a structural designer who can work with a small team to create and build the perfect solutions for their clients. They have completed a whole host of projects which have been extremely varied and incorporated different structural needs and creative designs.
 
This is an exciting role which requires a structural draftsman who will be responsible for the creation and completion of 2 and 3 dimensional drawings from concept design through to ‘As Built’.
 
Duties will include:

• Interpret requirements of Sales Team, MD and Client
• Provide input into functionality of designs
• Create a concept design illustration that incorporates all the requirements for the project 
• Create technical drawings through all phases from Construction Drawings to "As Built"
• Work with the Procurement person to understand how the materials and hardware used may affect the design, and adjust the designs accordingly
• Ensure paper and electronic drawings are developed and maintained in accordance with company standards including version control
• Provide input into drafting procedure
• Anticipate and resolve, with the General Manager, problems that are observed during the drawing process
• Provide technical support on drawings to on-site construction teams

Essential

• Proficient in AutoCAD and Trimble SketchUp or Solidworks
• Graphic skills in Photoshop or other photo editing software
• Skill in PDF editing software (Bluebeam Revu) is highly regarded
• Proficient computer skills in Windows based software, including Word and Excel
• Ability to interpret concepts from engineer and client and turn into relevant drawings

About You: 

• Structural Drafting qualification
• 5 years design drafting experience with both 2D and 3D CAD packages.
• Working knowledge of relevant engineering codes, standards, and practices.
• Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team.
• Good 3D conceptualisation and problem solving skills.
