Full Job Description

You have a passion for home furnishing and you are curious about how people live. You thrive on working in a fast paced, creative environment where you work to tight deadlines. This is a physical, fast-paced role so you will need a practical, hands-on approach and the ability to work with a variety of tools including ladders and power tools. You have a formal tertial qualification in interior design along with industry experience. Experience with AutoCad, SketchUp, Adobe CC Suite and/or Revit is highly regarded but not essential.

As an Interior Design Co-worker, you will be responsible for, but not limited to:
  • Using your passion for home furnishing to contribute to positioning the IKEA store as the first choice for home furnishing in your local market.
  • Applying your home furnishing knowledge to create home furnishing solutions for customers (involving customer visits) through creating in-room settings, homes, vignettes and sales support areas that reflect the IKEA identity.
  • Stimulating and increasing the interest for home furnishing through constantly showing new and inspiring solutions that motivate people to visit the IKEA store frequently.
  • Assisting in building furniture and setting up new room-sets when required.
  • Using the IKEA product range to show the distinct and different styles that appeal to many individual tastes and needs within the local market.
  • Reflecting the IKEA Brand identity by creating visual impact in all commercial, sales support, and co-worker areas.

With a great deal of knowledge on how to solve people’s needs, the interior design team utilises smart, functional, sustainable and affordable IKEA products to create environments that excite and engages our visitors. Inspiring our IKEA visitors that they can do it too!

We offer many benefits at IKEA other than just having the opportunity to work for a global company! Along with a focus on your personal and career development goals and being a part of an inclusive culture driven by values, you will be entitled to great initiatives including co-worker discount, subsidised meals in our co-worker restaurant, free parking and our TACK! loyalty program.
