Security Engineer, 16 Month Contract, $970 + Super

Your new company
This role sits within a large state government organization based in Parramatta. The client is modernising its organization and capabilities to operate in a modern 21st century context. The client is uplifting the maturity of the Cyber Security Services which will deliver maturity uplift across three main streams; Security Assurance, Active Defence and Security Operations Centre.

Your new role
This hands-on role includes providing product technical implementation skills including software installation, documenting as-built configurations, testing, script development, technical writing, developing and reporting on service level indicators, agile work practices and a strong motivation to build low defect quality products and services. You will require skills in various security domain technologies and be capable of understanding and implementing solution designs, constructing highly available, reliable and robust technical systems, developing operating models and test methodologies, focusing on service outcomes, training others, and an ability to come up to speed with new ways of working and technologies.

What you'll need to succeed
- Direct experience in Cyber Security technologies and processes – in any or all of the following domains – User, Device, Network & Transport, Systems or Information Security.
- Experience in building to ISM based systems at PROTECTED level
- Experience in building solutions and deployments using modern approaches including Agile, DevSecOps, SRE, delivered via Outsourced or Inhouse, and operated as “Products” with defined “Service Outcomes” as defined by Service Level Indicators and Objectives
- Understanding of modern cyber security threats and technologies and processes to mitigate them
- Ability to build technology using the latest cloud innovations including SaaS, PaaS and on-premises technologies with a background in either AWS or Azure services being considered an advantage.
- Windows and Linux - Splunk (as SIEM)
