WHS Manager needed for a local council in Darwin!
Your new company
Hays Specialist Recruitment have partnered with a local council.
Your new role
In this role you will be responsible for overseeing and developing the council WHS management system to achieve a proactive safety culture within the organisation.
- Lead the review, implementation, management and reporting for the council WHS management system
- Ensure organisational responsiveness and compliance with WHS legislation, including development and implementation of ITC systems and supporting policies, procedures, training and guidance
- Develop annual action plans that recognise and address the organisation needs for WHS continuous improvement activities
- Demonstrate WHS leadership
- Oversee WHS committee.
- Ensure team member compliance with all legislation relocating to the code of conduct, anti-discrimination and WHS
- Report all accidents, incidents, near misses and hazards immediately
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful it is essential that you have:
- Diploma of Workplace Health and Safety or equivalent qualification
- ICAM lead investigator qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years experience in an equivalent role
