Our client is looking for a lead carpenter in Melbourne CBD area for their top-tier residential projects


Your new company

Your new company is a growing Melbourne builder who pride themselves on their architectural custom homes and delivering high-quality finishes to their clients. They have recently picked up new projects in Melbourne and are booked with work spanning to the middle of 2022. Our client has been growing over the last 5 years, with their 2 directors coming off the tools and starting their own high-end building company, they have a great awareness of the trades and the difficulties involved.

Your new role

In your new role you will be responsible for the timely and efficient delivery of projects with this Melbourne builder. As a lead of their carpentry team you will need to have experience in delivering architectural projects with a high level of detail while managing a team of carpenters (3 or more qualified and apprentices).

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Hands-on carpentry duties
  • Ensuring that all the tasks are completed on time, safely and to a high-quality standard
  • Running OHS practices on site (including toolbox talks and inductions)
  • Involvement in management of the trades and subcontractors on site
  • Regular reporting to the Foreman and other business stakeholders
  • Can provide supporting references

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail, high-end carpentry experience
  • Full carpentry tool kit and reliable transport
  • Proficient in all aspects of carpentry i.e. residential formwork, framing, roof trusses, fitout, external carpentry
  • Understanding of building process and codes for the trades invoiced in the building process
  • Ability to follow, understand and implement safety management plans
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office programs or willingness to learn
