What we are looking for?

EndeavourX is looking for an Senior iOS Software Engineer to join a squad in the Digital Customer Experience Tribe. The tribe primarily focuses on the customer websites and customer apps that allow the browsing and buying of products from our Dan Murphy and BWS brands.

Software Engineers will typically work in a team of 3-4 engineers, a Product Owner, BA, Design Team (UX/UXI), Delivery Lead and QAs/test engineers to uplift the apps that power Australia’s leading liquor retailers with significant growth plans.

You may have worked in retail and with a big corporate, building technical solutions for retail store systems. You may have invested your talent in startups, digital SMEs or management consultancies. What you do need is to know how you could contribute to our teams. Be interested and interesting! 

Responsibilities

Qualities you imbue

  • Work closely with Tech Leads to develop high quality, secure and performant apps.
  • Ensure documentation of existing applications and processes are in place and maintained.
  • Able to effectively communicate ideas, designs and challenges to the squad and other tech teams in concise and relatable terms.
  • Assist in onboarding of new engineers.

Software Development

  • Development of various applications for retail and e-commerce, working closely with backend engineers.
  • Software development activities associated with the delivery of assigned user stories in line with agile delivery practice, working in close collaboration with team members.
  • Cloud application development and continuous delivery practices.
  • Designing and building testable systems, protecting the quality of work at all stages of delivery.
  • Participation in agile ceremonies such as standups, sprint planning, demos, retros, workshops, etc.

We need you to have

  • Maintain up to date knowledge of contemporary approaches, techniques and technologies.
  • Ability to think customer first or team first and relate solutions back to the problem and outcomes.
  • Strong experience in modern engineering practices and disciplines.
  • Ability to stay calm in challenging circumstances and work through problems methodically.
  • Details oriented mindset.
  • Good understanding of Agile & Lean delivery principles. Provide input to team processes.

And these technical skills

  • 5+ years of extensive iOS development.
  • Experience in building complex iOS native mobile applications
  • 2+ years of commercial experience with Swift, 3+ years of commercial experience with Objc.
  • Modern development toolchain (Git/VSTS/Azure DevOps etc) 
  • CI/CD development/deployment practices 
  • Modern software design practices
  • Secure coding best practices
  • Strong development testing knowledge - Unit testing, test automation

It would be nice if you had:

  • Azure experience or another cloud provider
  • Understanding of other mobile app frameworks
  • Experience with microservice architectures
  • Jira & Confluence experience
