An opportunity to work as a Senior Architect for a State Government Department on contract.

Your new company
Our client is a Government Department who typically look after a range of new build, maintenance and capital works projects. Due to a peak in workload and a healthy project pipeline, they are looking to add a number of Senior Architects to their Department to assist with their various building projects. Our client is offering a long term, 12-month contract with an attractive hourly rate in line with market rates.

Your new role
Your new role as a Senior Architect will involve a range of tasks, dependent on your appointed team. Standard responsibilities include; creating project briefs based on client's needs, outlining a project scope in line with necessary parameters and policies, presenting findings with a high degree of graphical and written communication, and assisting with budget estimations and liaising with important clients and stakeholders. More technical responsibilities can include preparing a feasibility report, creating both development and standard drawings, as well as assisting with auditing external designs. As a Senior Architect, you can expect to work with both your internal team, as well as with Project Managers or external consultants and may be required to conduct site visits to keep the project on track. This opportunity would be ideal for a registered architect who has had a few years of experience working on government projects in a senior capacity.

What you'll need to succeed
As the ideal candidate, you would need to be a Registered Architect in Australia with some solid practical experience. Due to the seniority of the role, you will have a track record of leading and guiding a team with correct practices, and you will understand standards policy and government requirements well. You'll be able to deliver a high level of support to both internal team, and external contractors to ensure the progression of projects. Your communication and negotiation skills will be what make you successful in this opportunity.
