A leading Australian Civil Construction organisation based in Western Sydney is seeking an experienced 

Survey Manager

 to join their team.

They have recently been active in some of the most significant civil construction projects in Sydney. Due to this, they are now searching for an experienced 

Survey Manager

 to join their tight-knit and rapidly expanding team to exceed their client's expectations on current and future projects.

The ideal candidate will lead, support and mentor the survey team, and manage a portfolio of multiple projects ranging from major infrastructure to large scale private and land development projects. Experience is mandatory; however, a willingness to work as part of a team and stand out as a leader and communicator is a must.
Role and Responsibilities

  • Client and Survey Manager liaison 
  • Provide leadership to support and develop dedicated survey team members 
  • Interrogate infrastructure design and identify issues 
  • Prepare survey sketches with long section and cross-section information for design flaws
  • Create field set-out designs for the survey team 
  • Create machine control files 
  • Managing in-ground services models 
  • Calculate volumetric and area quantities 
  • Install, measure and verify survey control networks 
  • Allocate and direct survey team and resources 
  • Direct and maintain document control for project survey data 
Capability and Expectation
  • Tertiary qualification in surveying
  • Experience managing & mentoring junior survey crew
  • Must have extensive experience in a similar role
  • RMS G71 project experience
  • Experience in the Civil and construction industry is preferred
  • Experience in using a range of survey equipment
  • Ability to use Autocad, 12D, Magnet or Liscad
  • Must be physically able to climb, lift, balance, handle materials and lift equipment.
  • Service all projects with minimal delay
  • Produce as-builts promptly for the project teams
  • Calculate and produce field survey data in an appropriate time frame
