Residential Tom Price, Full time, Five (5) Year Fixed Term Contract

Starting cash component of $140,000.00, negotiable, dependent on skills and experience.

The Shire of Ashburton serves communities across a vast region in the Pilbara, Western Australia. The region is known for mining, agriculture and fishing, and for its rugged, ancient landscape. Tom Price is WA’s highest town, located right on the edge of the state’s second largest national park, Karijini.

ABOUT THE POSITION

Reporting to the Director Infrastructure Services, this position is responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of the Shire of Ashburton’s civil works program, valued at around $30m per annum. Our ideal candidate will be comfortable with the hands-on delivery of major projects and in providing direction to a team of project officers, consultants and contractors and have extensive experience and skills necessary to ensure that all project specifications and contracts are administered professionally and in accordance with relevant standards and best industry practice.

Our ideal candidate will be qualified, highly capable and experienced in Local Government Project Management with significant experience with the construction and maintenance of sealed and unsealed roads. The successful candidate will also be required to build and maintain relationships and contacts with key stakeholders and will be a highly effective communicator who is able to deliver timely outcomes within budget constraints while demonstrating a high level of honesty and integrity. Your written communication skills will be of a high standard.

The role is responsible for managing a small team of project officers and for assisting with the development and review of asset management plans, forward capital works programs and financial reporting. You will play a key role in ensuring a sustainable and structured approach to the maintenance and renewal of civil infrastructure assets.
