Job Description

Under the L3Harris Communications Australia Field Engineering Manager, the Specialist Field Engineer will work within the existing Mature Support Contract to the Commonwealth of Australia. The Specialist Field Engineer will be required to work as part of the L3Harris Field Engineering team in support of the Elbit Systems in Port Melbourne.

The L3Harris Field Engineer provide COMSEC management, installation, configuration and troubleshooting of L3Harris products in support of the CoA Land 200 Battle Management System. The Field Engineer will work with Engineers, Sales Specialists, Program Managers (PM), Account Managers (AM) and Customers to support activities. Based in Port Melbourne, Australia, with potential for domestic travel.

Responsible for field and office based technical support of RF Communications tactical radio equipment in the HF, VHF, UHF and SHF RF spectrum.

  • Responsible for COMSEC management and control.
  • Responsible for the operational quality of system equipment.
  • Provides post-sale technical support of company products/systems.
  • Provides, presents and interprets design, application and service information to sales staff and customers.
  • May assist with the design of minor systems to satisfy customer needs.
  • Assesses and analyzes technical application of company products and competing equipment to meet customer needs.
  • Provides support in disseminating technical information on specific applications.
  • May install, configure, operate, maintain, repair or modify customer equipment or software.
  • Provides guidance and operation, maintenance and inspection procedures and techniques.
  • Analyzes and troubleshoots equipment failures to determine cause and recommends and/or performs corrective action.

Qualifications
  • NV1 Clearance
  • Bachelor’s Degree with minimum of 4 years prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
