The Engineering Manager brings technical and operational thought leadership to ensure adequate focus on the Loyalty technology landscape promoting re-use and continual investment to facilitate growth and return on prior investments. As the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for strategic and tactical decisions to maximise the value of the services across several technology domains (eg Insurance or Financial/Commercial partners). You will Lead multiple, cross-functional teams that design and deliver the roadmap for the technologies/products including the management of technical debt.
What you’ll bring to the role –
- Experience in translating business needs to develop solutions from design to technological product considering reusability, scalability and security requirements.
- Experience working in an enterprise with high scaling, availability and performance requirements running on cloud-based infrastructure
- At least 5 years’ experience with people management responsibilities
- Tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Computer Engineering discipline or at least 10 years of general IT experience with a focus on software development
- Proven capabilities in dealing with internal & external stakeholders with a strong customer focus to build effective working relationships at a senior level
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the capability to interact effectively with team members
- Experience with CI/CD methodologies, processes and tools
- Experience with operations, maintenance, engineering, and security
- Demonstrable experience monitoring highly available applications and systems
- Agile application development methodologies, such as Scrum or XP
- Adaptability, flexibility and the ability to deal with ambiguity associated with working in a fast paced and changing environment
- Demonstrated excellent analytical, critical thinking, problem resolution, decision-making skills and the ability to collect/analyze data and present conclusions to management
- Excellent project and time management skills; coordinating activities across multiple business groups and managing multiple requests/deliverables simultaneously
- Demonstrated professional interpersonal abilities to maintain a high level of confidentiality
