About the role:

We are looking for a talented Carpenter and Joiner to join our strong and driven team. We are seeking a capable and experienced Carpenter and Joiner. The work involves various carpentry activities including general carpentry, shaping, and fitting parts to build structures and installing various furniture items.

Location: Homebush NSW 2140

Salary range: $60,000 to $65,000 per annum

Role: Full-time

Key responsibilities include:

  • Determining size and depth of space where cabinets need to be installed and working around to overcome limitations
  • Building and installing structures, cabinets, and workstations at designated areas in accordance with floor plans
  • Cutting timbers, wood joints, lumber and/or panelling to specified dimensions and assembling shaped parts as per the specified measurements
  • Carving and assembling wood to form desks, tables, workstations, and other items as per the requirements
  • Following production drawings to understand requirements, prepare layouts, and craft high quality timber joinery products
  • Managing workload efficiently and meeting deadlines for products
  • Taking measurements and calculating the size and amount of material needed
  • Selecting and working with materials such as timbers, veneers, particle boards, etc.
  • Assembling and installing furniture with glue/clamps, dowels, screws, nails, drywall anchors and any other tools and materials as required
  • Fastening materials to make frameworks, using hand tools, wood screws, nails, etc.
  • Providing customized solutions as per the requirements
  • Erecting scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures
  • Inspecting structures and conducting repairs or maintenance
  • Complying with QC and safety processes

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • A relevant qualification and/or at least two years of experience with timber joinery will be preferred
  • Excellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, drawings, and specifications is essential
  • Willingness to follow safety guidelines at all times
