About you

We are seeking a talented Senior Façade Engineer to join our Buildings Group in Perth. With support from our current WA/SA Façade Lead, you will become a key point of contact for façade engineering work delivered by Arup in the WA Market, with the opportunity to grow and lead our façade offering in WA. Your excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ability to collaborate and solid technical skills will ensure success.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Bachelor Degree in Structural, Mechanical. Aerospace or Architectural Engineering.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in Engineering, ideally in a consulting environment.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the Architectural buildings industry.
  • Be a chartered engineer with Engineers Australia (or equivalent), or be working towards chartership.
  • Experience in the design, specification and diagnostics of façade systems.
  • Experience in finite element analysis, using software such as Strand, ANSYS or similar.
  • Experience in design and drafting tools such as Rhino, Sketch-up, AutoCAD, Revit and BlueBeam/Acrobat.
  • Knowledge of tools for thermal analysis (LBNL Window and THERM) beneficial.
  • Ability to independently manage projects.
About the role

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Façade Engineer to work in close collaboration with our WA/VIC/SA façade team and help lead and deliver façade discipline projects end to end from our Perth office. You will be supported to maintain and grow our current relationships, exposure and market opportunities in Western Australia. Using your current skills and knowledge you will also contribute to Arup’s wider Building team in the region and globe.

In this role you will:
  • With strong support from our façade leaders and wider team in the Australasia region, work towards becoming the primary point of contact for all existing and new façade work originating from WA.
  • Assist in preparing submissions for multi-disciplinary projects and façade-only discipline projects.
  • Maintain and grow relationships with clients, architects, building contractors, specialist façade contractors and glass/material suppliers in the WA market.
  • Provide façade design advice and designs to architects and clients on buildings projects.
  • Provide technical engineering input on projects.
  • Take responsibility for façade documentation including calculations, sketches, drawings and specifications.
  • Effectively manage the time, quality and performance of projects.
  • Liaise with other façade groups within the region, and when needed provide technical support and review of their projects.
