About the role

We are looking for a Cyber Security Engineer to maintaining, implementing and continuously improving Rio Tinto’s Cyber Security's portfolio of security controls.

Reporting to the Manager Cyber Security Engineering, and working in a collaborative, exciting environment within our global Cyber Security team, you will:

  • Maintain, implementing and continuously improving Cyber Security's portfolio of security controls - primarily Microsoft's suite of Defender security products
  • Assist in project design of how new security controls are integrated into current toolsets and processes to support security operations

What you’ll bring

  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
  • A few years of industry relevant experience. Not necessarily Cyber Security specific, but systems administration, network administration or a similar role.
  • Experience managing Windows Servers, Desktops and Linux at scale
  • Good foundational knowledge of networking concepts such as network protocols, subnetting, routing, IPS/IDS and firewalls
  • Ability to write code in scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell (ideally both)

It would also be beneficial if you had:

  • Experience with Microsoft Security products such as MDE, MDI, MDO, MDAV, M365D, MCAS, Windows Firewall and Sentinel.
  • Experience working in a global organization and large IT environments following ITIL processes, such as change control and incident management.
  • Experience working in cloud environments (AWS and Azure) and how an understanding of how identity management and access controls work within these environments.
  • A foundational knowledge of Industrial Control Systems (ICS) technologies and protocols.
