Our existing fulfilment centre in Perth, Western Australia, has an opening for a WHS/ coordinator to help support our site's operations and reporting into the WHS Specialist on site.
· Assist with risk assessments as required and follow up control measures to completion.
· Advise associates and managers on company procedures and legal requirements within the level of a Coordinators knowledge.
· Monitor the Fulfillment Centre for compliance to company WHS procedures.
· Assist in the implementation of Regional WHS management programs at site level.
· Assist with the investigation of incidents to establish root cause and develop required action plans with relevant processes.
· Update internal records with regards to incidents, near misses and accidents, Area Observations, Safety Inspections, pre-start records and ‘Safety Saves’.
· Collate and produce weekly safety report as required.
· Attend health and safety meetings as per site schedule.
· Undertake projects and information gathering to establish hazards and level of risk within the delivery station.
· Be involved in undertaking action plans to ensure continuing compliance with Legislation.
· Be able to maintain confidentiality in matters involving safety investigations.
· Monitor Dock and Yard safety procedures to ensure compliance.
· Carry out WHS/ training sessions for managers and associates as required.
· Support RTW requirements as required
· Flexibility on hours worked to cover shifts and escalations as required. This role will operate over a regular shift pattern which includes weekends.
· Waste Management Responsibilities:
· The WHS / Coordinator will also act as the Site Regulated Waste Specialist and manage on-site waste management processes including:
· Characterization/determination of regulated and hazardous waste (from both inventory and facilities operations) including proper storage and segregation, containerizing, labeling, waste logs, and preparing for shipment, in accordance with AU waste regulatory requirements.
· Physical maintenance, housekeeping, and organization of the waste storage area and all safety equipment (eye wash, spill kit, fire extinguisher, etc.), in accordance with Australian regulatory requirements, AU Hazardous Waste Procedure and Amazon network policies.
· Log and containerize all regulated and hazardous wastes using Waste Tracker.
· Raising requests for additional containers, labels, and other supplies from waste vendor to ensure proper stock levels are maintained at the site.
· Engaging and communicating with Waste Vendor to trigger waste collection – sending accumulated logs, scheduling and coordinating waste pick-ups, and follow-up on paperwork for each consignment of waste.
· Maintaining and uploading all shipment documents to the Shared Folder and Waste tracker.
· Ensure all routine waste inspection records of the area and containers are maintained – raise issues with Site Leadership Team.
· Work Operations, ICQA, V-Ret and C-Ret teams to set-up a Products Awaiting Determination Staging Area.
· Liaison with ICQA, ISS, Vendor Returns and facilities teams responsible for the proper management of hazardous chemicals and generation of hazardous wastes.
· Coordinate engagement with waste management disposal suppliers and related stakeholders.
· Record data and management of recording systems (i.e. Waste Tracker).
· Must be available to assist with incidental spill/leak/release clean-up activities.

*This is an hourly role based on shift patterns (either days or nights).

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS


Minimum Cert IV in WHS
industry experience working in WHS/ very advantageous

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Environment management certifications (preferable)
Workplace training certification (preferable)
Workers compensation and RTW coordinator experience (preferable)
1-3 years experience in a similar role (preferable)
