Job Description

A&Y Associates is a geotechnical engineering and NATA accredited laboratory based in Victoria and operates its geotechnical services across the entire Victorian region. Its experienced professionals and consultants possess more than 15 years of combined experience in geotechnical engineering and construction material testing.

The Opportunity/Role

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a part-time/full-time Junior Geotechnical Engineer to join our team, located at Truganina.

As a successful candidate you will:

• Drill and log boreholes (mechanical/ hand auger)
•  Perform DCP testing (a 9kg hammer)
•  Collect soil samples and logging in accordance with AS1726-2017
•  Site Inspection/ Supervision
•  Assist with Engineering and Laboratory teams
•  Prepare report
•  Perform feature surveys/ drafting

You will need to have: 

• A Civil Engineering or Geology degree recognized by Engineers Australia (essential)
•  Engineers Australia membership
• 1 - 2 years'experience in similar role or some site experience (essential)
• Full and valid Australia manual driver's license (essential)
• Minimum one year of local driving skill (essential)
• White Card
•  Experience with land survey equipment (ideally but not essential)
•  Knowledge of logging in accordance with AS1726-2017
•  Physically fit (essential)
