Shoalhaven City Council is seeking an experienced Carpenter & Joiner to join their Building Services Department.

About the role

This is a full- time permanent position, Monday to Friday 7.00am to 4.00pm. Located in Bomaderry.


Reporting directly to the Team Supervisor- Structures, the focus of this position is to:

  • To construct and maintain Council’s building assets to the highest quality and standard within budget restraints.
  • To efficiently and competitively deliver projects by using effective time management and by implementing improved processes and procedures.

    Skills & Experience

  • Carpentry and Joinery Trade Certificate
  • 6 Years’ experience in the building industry (4 year apprenticeship included)
  • Class C Driver’s Licence
  • Current National WHS Construction Card (WorkCover)
  • Elevated Work Platform certificate or ability and willingness to obtain
  • Asbestos Removal certificate or ability and willingness to obtain
  • Chainsaw (crosscut) certificate or ability and willingness to obtain
  • Quickcut Saw certificate or ability and willingness to obtain
  • Ability to follow defined WHS policies and procedures
  • A commitment to undertake relevant workplace training
