The Role

As the Bid and Estimating Manager, you will report to the Head of Strategy and Development and be responsible for managing our approach to proposals and tenders for major electrical infrastructure, renewable energy and telecommunication opportunities.

You will be responsible for developing bid strategies and leading the bid and estimating team. This is a key leadership role that supports the Head of S&D to ensure Enerven maintains a profitable order book and pipeline to continue the success of Enerven’s growth strategy.

Other key objectives of the role include.

  • Management of relationships with new and existing customers and suppliers to provide business opportunities for Enerven
  • Development of pricing strategy – to ensure Enerven’s tender offers across a wide range of project scopes and contract types are market competitive and accurately priced
  • Development of estimating capability across Enerven including systems, processes and people
  • Governance of all bid activity to ensure our submissions are complete and compelling
  • Identification, assessment and mitigation of the complex operational, technical, commercial, legal, financial and SQE risks associated with bids.

What you will need:

Leading a team of 5, you will need to demonstrate your capability as a strong senior leader, coach and mentor. The role deals with a range of internal and external senior stakeholders, therefore the ability to build relationships and communicate is essential.

You will be an innovative problem solver with sharp commercial and analytical skills. Extensive knowledge and experience in bidding and tendering processes is essential.

Demonstrated leadership experience in a similar position within the electrical or construction industry, with a proven track record of successful bid activity is required, along with a relevant tertiary degree.

The role will be offered as a 2 year fixed term contract and candidates will need to be prepared to undertake a pre-employment medical.
