Client & You:

Our client is an Engineering company that specialise within Electrical Engineering, Automation & Control. They employ more than 5000 and have an opening in the North Shore of Sydney for a Senior Controls System Engineer. 

They pride themselves on developing state of the art, leading-edge technology. Applicants will hold a Bachelor of Science and have between 5 and 10 years’ experience in the field of electrical and automation engineering.
Key responsibilities:

  • Project and process driven, managing your own assigned Electrical Engineering Projects (Project Management, Controls and Installation) 
  • Provide expert knowledge for new and existing material handling projects
  • Engineering controls and system design work, oversee draftspersons
  • Review and record all documentation
  • PLC, Speed Drives, SCADA, HMI development and database programming
  • Project Management from initial concept to delivery - full Project Delivery
  • Produce project quotes and assist with tenders
  • Help, assist and manage installation and programming on client site
  • Manage sub-contractors both locally and across Asia-Pac but be the local lead
  • Strong OH&S exposure within previous positions
  • Expert knowledge of Australian Electrical codes AS 3000 and AS 402.4.1
  • Occasional travel across other company sites for both internal and external stakeholders
  • Coordinate and implement all electrical and controls drawings within your team and subcontractors
  • Report and present project analysis while managing the procurement of parts
  • Strong condition monitoring knowledge

To be a successful fit for this position you will have:
  • Bachelor of Science - Robotics, Mechatronic or Electrical Engineering
  • At least 5 years' Controls Engineering experience
  • 5 years’ experience within material handling systems control and automation
  • Expert knowledge of PLC programming and commissioning
  • PLC software knowledge of Rockwell, Hitachi, Omron preferred but not essential
  • Expert with SCADA, HMI and Database Programming
  • Strong understanding of codes AS 3000 and AS 402.4.1
  • Team player and project leadership skills
