Client & You:

Our client is an Engineering Manufacturing company based in West Sydney.

They take engineering designs and create large products, with a strong focus on Metallurgy and Material Technology Engineering chemicals, rubber, scrap foam, metal and more.

They employ more than 200 people in Australia and are looking to hire an Operations Supervisor with experience managing production, maintenance, OH&S and more. Applicants will have stand out achievements across production management, material planning, and inventory management (increase of plant efficiency, reducing shutdown operations, increase of production).

Daily Duties:

  • Managing a large team of mechanical and electrical trades professionals – capital projects
  • Focussing on site safety and OH&S standards achieving a zero harm, zero defects, zero incidents
  • Develop a professional and healthy relationship, leading from the front, building a high-performance culture within the production and manufacturing division
  • Improve plant performance focussing on Change Management and Process Improvement
  • Responsible for inventory & budgets and all operating costs within the department
  • Manage production schedules, logistics, and daily operations
  • Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement 
  • Oversee employee performance and set KPI’s for Supervisors to monitor
  • Monitor projects daily, weekly while negotiating with suppliers and sub-contractors

To apply you will have:
  • Australian / New Zealand TAFE trade qualification OR an overseas HND / HNC equivalent
  • Between 5 and 10 years relevant experience across Production and Manufacturing
  • Strong understanding of ERP and MRP Systems
  • MBA or further education would be beneficial
  • Experience working with unions
  • Excellent communication and positive approach to work
  • No sponsorship, applicants must be an Australian citizen or a permanent residency
