JOB DESCRIPTION
Chatsworth Constructions have an exciting opportunity for a Building Services Mechanical Engineer to be part of our multidisciplinary engineering team in Melbourne. You will be required to work autonomously or with a team to develop the successful projects through clear strategy and proactive commitment nationally.
Responsibilities:
- Review and provide comments for the full range of equipment design, specification, procurement, installation and troubleshooting for project Equipment projects
- Perform overall quality control of the work (budget, schedule, plans, personnel’s performance) and report regularly on project status and analyse for ultimate work force utilisation
- Perform initial and ongoing mechanical building designs to various levels of detail, from conceptual feasibility studies to detailed design for the construction of the relevant site projects
- An ability to work autonomously and use your own initiative with in a small team.
- Follow-up activities, such as quotation reviews, review of contractor/manufacturers documents, trouble-shooting during the manufacturing stage, assistance during installation/shutdowns
- Determines project responsibilities by identifying project phases and elements, assigning personnel to phases and elements, and reviewing bids from contractors.
- Use computer-aided design/modelling software Use computer-aided design/modelling software, as a Autocad, Site 3D, SketchUp, able to work with MS Excel, Project and REVIT MEP.
- Submit a scope of work for each project that includes budgetary numbers and the goal of each project
- Determine and develop project schedule by studying project plan and specifications, calculating time requirements, and sequencing project elements.
- Control and develop project plan by reviewing design, specifications, and plan, scheduling changes, and recommending actions.
- Applying engineering principles and their relevant calculations for pumping appliances on various projects.
- Oversee the entire projects and coordinate across multiple disciplines to provide building services designs according to relevant Australian Building Codes.
- Prepare up-to-date progress statement of all current Projects under their control for meetings with clients and contractors.
- Responsible for planning and managing allocated projects with-in given timelines and future works.
- Responsible for developing and maintaining good working relationships with clients to ensure long-term business partnerships.
- Responsible for managing project costs and profitability
- Comply with regulations and maintain a safe working environment for all staff
