We are looking to recruit a number of engineers for a local / regional council in Queensland.

Principal design engineer
Engineering Technical Advisor
Engineering Surveyor

Background requires are least degree educational achievements and 5 years’ experience. Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline and significant professional post graduate experience.
Qld General Safety Induction (Construction Industry) Certification. Queensland C class drivers licence Registered Professional Engineer for senor roles.
Demonstrated experience in engineering, in particular infrastructure planning/design, project management, asset management, and surveying.
High level of keyboard and computer skills including engineering, survey and design software, GIS and the MS Office Suite of programs.
Demonstrated ability to supervise a team in an environment of change, establish work priorities and meet deadlines.
Knowledge of local council Departments, policies and procedures and relevant legislative requirements.
Good understanding of and commitment to EEO and WHS principles and practices.

The scope of work will cover all aspects of infrastructure and/ civil engineering including :-

Preparation of construction plans, engineering computations, estimates and contract specifications for roads, traffic treatments, stormwater, parks and other infrastructure projects
Investigate and report on infrastructure related issues associated with the repair, maintenance and construction of Council’s infrastructure assets
Coordinate surveying tasks
Conduct Heavy Vehicle Route Assessments for road manager consent, Level 2 bridge inspections and Road Safety Audit
Project Manage Technical Consultants and Infrastructure ProjectsPerform all tasks in accordance with appropriate technical standards, branch and departmental quality and operational policies and procedures
Undertake engineering surveys for the design, construction, maintenance, monitoring and as constructed surveys of engineering works and provide efficient processing and delivery of survey requests within Council’s range of operations
Liaise with clients, other Council staff, the public, consultants, utility and government authorities in the performance of duties including providing and obtaining information
Research and make recommendation for changes to relevant practices, standards, conditions, policies and technology
Undertake engineering functions of Council’s Infrastructure Technology section
Undertake field investigations and inspections for allocated projectsPreparation of construction plans, engineering computations, estimates and contract specifications for roads, traffic treatments, stormwater, parks and other infrastructure projects
Investigate and report on various infrastructure related issues associated with the repair, maintenance or construction of Council’s infrastructure assets
Conduct bridge inspections, road safety audits and rain/river gauge maintenance
Provide technical support for the Infrastructure delivery team in the preparation, implementation and maintenance of engineering activities
Contribute to the development of the budget for the Infrastructure Services Department
Assist with traffic management design
