About the Position: 

3 Bridges Community are looking for a experienced Carpenter to work full-time in our Home Modifications and Maintenance Team to provide time efficient service to clients

The following are the key responsibilities of the role:

  • Assess, prioritize, and carry out home modification and maintenance requests.
  • Quote work requests
  • Consult with referral agencies installation of modifications.
  • Carry out the following modification and maintenance work: -minor roofing, gutter, and downpipe replacement/repair work, fabrication and installation of external handrails, installation of internal grab rails, be involved with the construction of timber/concrete ramps, step modifications, carpentry work, minor tiling work, minor and major bathroom modifications.
  • Assist in ordering and purchasing equipment and materials and verify invoices of materials and equipment purchased.
  • Ensure equipment & company vehicle is appropriately maintained, cleaned, housed, and used for work purposes only.
  • Maintain a current understanding of the CHSP & NDIA National Guidelines and Home Modification and Maintenance Guidelines and ensure compliance.
  • Have current practical carpentry skills i.e., knowledge of new products, WHS policies and procedures, regulations, and by-laws of the building industry
  • Keep daily records of work performed, the cost of each job and the clients serviced.
  • Pass on completed job costs promptly to the Service Administrator for invoicing.
  • Assist with the maintenance of HMM consumables register i.e., Grab rails, Handheld Showers etc., pre-purchase as stock.
  • Additional duties as requested by management

 Mandatory qualifications:

  • Carpentry Licence
  • Current NSW drivers’ licence
  • Valid NSW working with Children Check clearance
  • Valid Criminal Record Check 
  • Hold an NSW Construction Induction White Card
  • Hold a current building related license as required for trade and approved by the Office of Fair Trading

Essential experience or skills:

  • 5 years trade and or maintenance experience
  • Own Hand Tools (Power Tools Supplied)
  • To sign a medical declaration before commencement
  • Analytical, Flexible, Collaborative & Supportive.

Desirable criteria:

  • Computer Skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Understanding of funded Home Modifications and Maintenance services
  • Welding experience
  • Hold a current Senior First Aid Certificate

 The successful candidate will require National Police Clearance prior to appointment (completed by 3Bridges) and a current working with Children Check
