We are seeking to hire a Product Development Engineer to join our collaborative, high growth organization located at our office based in Lane Cove, Sydney, Australia.

The Product Development Engineer will make an impact to the organisation by taking ownership of leading product design through the entire development life from research to production and delivery to market. To support the delivery of innovative products to the communications market, the product development engineer will co-ordinate with multiple teams including hardware, software, project management, NPI engineering, compliance, manufacturing, and external parties to ensure casa’s high-quality products meet the specifications defined by both internal product line managers as well as external customer requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with the Project Support team & other relevant teams in the organisation on technical issues including hardware, software, project management, NPI engineering, compliance and manufacturing.
  • Plan and assess development efforts for new product development and new feature requests on current products.
  • Evaluate suitability of parts, quality and capacity for very specific components such as custom cables for new product developments.
  • Effective communication with various stake holder inclusive of vendors and customer.
  • Prepare documentation for new operations such as assembling of prototypes, device configurations and firmware updates.
  • Work on initial bring up and debugging of brand new product platforms.
  • Work with CASA technicians in the field to gather logs, debug issues and upgrade units.
  • Identify strategies to reduce risk in relation to time, cost, and/or quality.
  • Review incoming requirements against existing products and parts.
  • Research opportunities for cost reductions and industry trends.
  • Sample preparation including hands-on assembly, configuration and ensuring units are tested prior to shipping.
  • Assist Quality team with Root Cause Analysis "RCA" for customer reported issues on products.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant engineering field (electronics, software, computer science, etc.).
  • 3+ years of experience in the program delivery field, preferably in the telecommunication industry.
  • Clear understanding of different phases of product development cycle, including PoC, Lab/Field trials, and into mass production.
  • Experience working with in a multidiscipline engineering teams.
  • Proven experience in software, hardware, testing/validation.
  • Strong appetite to take on challenging unknown and unexpected technical complexities.
  • Strong communication skills and experience in managing stakeholders.
