We currently have an opportunity for highly motivated Planning Engineers to join our growing team on a FIFO/ office basis.

Reporting to the Controls/Project Manager, you will be accountable for:

  • Providing technical advice regarding design, construction and commissioning relating to the planning of works
  • Working with the tendering team to develop tender programs and other controls related requirements support the tender team in the development of related tender requirements including methodology, work breakdown structure, preliminaries development and risk.
  • Supporting projects in the establishment baseline criteria to plan and schedule workload as required.
  • Preparing project planning and scheduling status reports and working with the project team to recommend remedial actions.
  • Carrying out necessary preplanning to examine scope of work and services, work breakdown structure, financial and contractual obligations.
  • Work with projects in developing claims programs, reports and supporting documents.
  • Preparing schedules for commissioning and start up as required and assists the project control team in establishing a project performance incorporating EVM and reporting.

To be considered for this position you must have the following as a minimum:

  • Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or similar
  • Minimum of 5 years previous Planning experience preferably within the civil construction industry and preferably 2 years previous site based experience.
  • Solid understanding of Civil Engineering principals
  • Advanced planning and reporting skills
  • Extensive proficiency with MS Project/ Primavera P6 other software including Powerproject preferable
  • Sound understanding of estimating fundamentals
  • Commercial understanding of contract and project cost control management in the Civil Engineering industry (e.g., understands productivity and measure, forecasting)
  • Ability to identify risk and opportunities relating to planning and controls
  • Proficiency with MS Office, Adobe
