THE OPPORTUNITY

We are currently looking for a self-motivated individual to join our team as a Body Builder at our Gosford depot.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Workshops team within a growing company and a supportive, friendly team environment. Heavy vehicle body building experience is preferred but not necessary as we are willing to train and develop the right individual for the position.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, this role requires you to have a mature and professional approach with excellent communication skills. Your main duties will include:

  • Carrying out inspections on bodywork and frames of the vehicles to assess extent of damage sustained.
  • Performing maintenance, preparation, replacement and repairs on all vehicle body components including but not limited to; panels, frames, window and door systems.
  • Repairing scratches, dents and other damage to bodywork and replacing any parts that cannot be repaired.
  • This will require you to work closely with the Supervisor/Leading Hand to ensure that parts are ordered and can be obtained efficiently to ensure that all vehicles are repaired in a timely manner.
  • All appropriate paperwork will need to be completed for all required parts
  • Manufacture, service and fit vehicle with any the required components constructed from such materials as aluminium, steel, stainless steel, glass, fiberglass, sealing and bonding materials.
  • Providing all body, structural, accident damage and associated repairs, service and maintenance to vehicles as required.
  • Record maintenance & repairs on company forms or documents recording all faults found.
  • Ensure that all work carried out is performed in accordance with WHS practices and that you always maintain a safe and clean Workshop environment.
  • Work alongside the team to meet deadlines, get the fleet repaired and achieve outcomes that allow us to get the fleet back on the road.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

To be considered for this role, you will need to possess:

  • A current MVTC licence
  • A relevant trade qualification as a Body Builder
  • Possession of current MR Heavy Vehicle Drivers Licence (desirable) OR the ability to obtain the licence
  • Strong focus on safety in the workplace
  • Can-do attitude with a drive to exceed

Our workshop staff play a critical role within the business to ensure our ever-evolving fleet of vehicles are continually maintained to the highest standard to keep our staff and passengers safe out on the road.

Busways provides ongoing training and support to employees based on their level of experience to enable you to meet our standards. All work uniforms and any/all necessary PPE will be provided in accordance with company procedures.
