About the Position

Based at one of our City depots, the position of Construction worker will work as a team undertaking construction works as required by the City's works program.

You will take responsibility for:
Perform highly skilled and specialised tasks associated with construction/maintenance of civil engineering works.
Construction of stormwater drainage pipelines, manholes, gully pits, outlet structure and associated works.
Asphaltic concrete repairs to roadways and bikeways.
Laying and finishing concrete for kerb and channel, footpaths, bikeways and associated works including exposed aggregate, stencilled and stamped concrete.
Following designated safe work practices and performing a high standard of work.

Requirements for the role:
Certificate II in Construction (Civil) and/ demonstrated experience relevant to the role.
Current Class "MR" Drivers Licence.
WHS Licence General Construction (White Card).
You are a self-starter who manages their day to day workload.
You are a team player who positively contributes to the improvement of work processes and you embrace change.
You have a demonstrated commitment to safety and highly developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
You are a “can do” person who thrives on innovatively solving problems in a complex environment.

About the Infrastructure Delivery Branch

Delivery of the city's capital works program, and administration of the Local Area Works and Services (LAW&S) program.
One-stop shop for all infrastructure requirements which include, project management, engineering, drafting, design, construction, cost estimations, survey and material testing.
Delivery of approximately 500 projects each year, including community facilities, roads and rehab, foreshores, bridges, footpaths, landscaping, parks, stormwater and drainage.

Desirable: Outline your qualifications and experiences related to high risk activities including electrical awareness and confined spaces. Have you completed Energex M320 Electrical awareness training? If so please upload a copy of your qualification under 'Education Certificates'.
