Yurika has an exciting 24 month fixed term opportunity for a Senior Project Engineer. The role may be based in Townsville or Brisbane.

The role

The Senior Project Engineer is responsible for leading in field delivery of engineering activities associated with the construction of large energy infrastructure and utility services projects and products as part of EQL offerings into the competitive unregulated market.

You will work with clients and suppliers extensively to understand their requirements and apply expert engineering capability in making decisions that ensure projects are delivered in terms of quality, cost and time in an optimized and fit for purpose manner.

The candidate

To be successful in this role, you will have the following qualifications and experience:
  • Bachelor degree in Engineering acceptable for membership of Institution of Engineers Australia in the Professional Engineering category;
  • Registration as Professional Engineer Queensland (RPEQ) is required for appointment into this position and successful candidate will need to attain registration as a Professional Engineer in Queensland (RPEQ) or hold CPEng and be eligible to obtain RPEQ status.
  • Proven ability to influence project outcomes and resolve technical problems through technical innovation and utilising advanced teamwork, communication and inter-personal skills.
  • Demonstrated engineering prowess with the delivery of design and construction for energy infrastructure and utility system projects and products and ability in problem solving with a record of solid contribution to important and challenging programs.
  • Solid customer relationships and be able to understand, supply and deliver product solutions according to the customer needs including entrepreneurial insight and skills operating successfully inside a profit focused, safe business.
  • Strong overall commercial acumen and proven ability to design and deliver projects and products to time, cost and quality objectives that address risks and reputational interests in a commercial profit focused context.
  • Proven and demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the High Voltage industry key trends and understanding of the application of new technology.

The position has been evaluated as Professional & Managerial Grade 3 ($159,611 - $175,753 per annum). The level of payment will be subject to an assessment of the successful applicant’s knowledge, skills and competencies that are required in this position. Conditions of employment are in accordance with the Energy Queensland Union Collective Agreement 2020.
