My client, one of Australia's household names, is seeking a super star Cloud Security Engineer to help them reduce their cloud security risks and deliver and support Infrastructure As Code and Configuration As Code security solutions.

The Cloud Security Engineer will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Cloud security risk reduction through clever engineering and automation
  • Security controls monitoring and reporting
  • Development and support of Infrastructure As Code and Configuration As Code security solutions
  • Select and implement security controls across the Azure cloud environment
  • Advise infrastructure and architecture teams on all matters relating to security
  • Educate the cloud team on DevSecOps, security engineering and automation adoption
  • Keep abreast of emerging tech in the security space and advise on its adoption through demos and presentations
  • Assess emerging security controls in the market and advise on them in line with business objectives and overall security posture

In order to be successful, the Cloud Security Engineer will require most of the following skills and experience:

  • Senior experience in cloud security engineering, preferably in Azure
  • Understanding of analytics-based security using log-querying technologies such as Splunk
  • Experience of solution design of SIEMS and integration patterns
  • Competence with command-line use on Linux and Windows
  • Scripting prowess in ideally either Bash, Python, Powershell or Batch
  • Git and CI/CD tools
  • DevOps skills, ideally in Azure
  • Experience in reusable frameworks, patterns and components to accelerate development
  • Deployment, testing and code review of security solutions
