About the role

As a Senior Java Developer, you will be engaged as an application SME on IT projects from planning through to the deployment and support phases and will be focussed on detailed design, build, deployment and iterative enhancement of new applications and platforms. How great does that sound?

You will work as part of a long running project team to ensure that the business and technical architecture of the delivered solutions match customer requirements- all while working on our new open source integration stack using technologies such as Java & Kotlin, Spring Boot, Docker, Kubernetes and AWS.

Reporting into the Technical Lead, you will also get the opportunity to champion modern software engineering best practices and be passionate about writing clean, elegant and well-structured, and maintainable code.

This is an amazing opportunity to work on bleeding edge technology and have a big impact whilst we focus on creating our brand new mobile app with awesome features for our customers.

About you

First and foremost, you're someone who values technical excellence and high-quality code whilst understanding the need for on time delivery to meet the needs of our business and customers. You’re serious about best practices and code quality and comfortable using new tech.

You’re a highly experienced backend engineer with expertise in Java & Kotlin, Spring Boot, Docker, AWS and a bunch of other cool tech. You have extensive experience of CI/CD and working in an agile, DevOps environment.

As an exceptional communicator, you have outstanding, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills and a fantastic ability to build effective working relationships and influence others. You’ve dealt with high levels of resistance before and you know how to address it and push forward with positive results.

If you have a strong desire to be part of an organisation that fosters a culture of collaboration and ownership from its people, perhaps you should apply now?

I was born to play this role

Can’t see a closing date on the advert? That’s because we’re pretty efficient here at ME and we may start looking at applications sooner rather than later, so if this role sounds like your jam, be sure to apply by submitting your CV today.

While this is a full-time role, we’re also open to hearing from candidates that may be seeking a flexible work arrangement.

Should an applicant be the preferred candidate, background checks (including police checks, reference checks, ASIC banned and disqualified persons and bankruptcy checks) will be completed prior to the candidate's employment being confirmed.
