The Company

Our client is a specialised global industrial manufacturer. Currently they are looking to employ a QHS Officer for their head office for a national role.

The Opportunity

You will be responsible for maintaining compliance across quality & work health safety standards in Australia and will work to maintain existing and achieve new company compliance standards. You will work with a variety of stakeholders (external and internal) and will lead &/or pioneer new initiatives as the role develops. Included in your responsibilities and tasks are:
  • QHS committee Chairperson and Coordinator.
  • maintaining Permit, Certificate & Licence registry
  • lead the Australian initiative for the development of the global Occupational Health Program
  • manage / coordinate certifications for ISO standards (9001, 45001 and more)
  • manage internal ISO certification audits and internal safety inspections.
  • develop &/or maintain ‘Emergency Preparedness’ and for site-specific evacuation plans.
  • manage ‘Disaster Recovery’ site plans.
  • coordinate customer &/or external quality and safety audits/inspections
  • inventory management (of quality and safety related site products)
  • chemical management and HAZMAT control
  • manage training programs
  • WHS onboarding
  • Manage internal and external safety record system
  • Conducts risk assessments of company facilities.
You
  • OH&S (Occupational Health & Safety) or WHS (Work Health Safety (WHS) experience a must
  • Excellent communication (verbal, written, presentation)
  • Strong interpersonal skills, diplomatic and assertive!
  • ISO audit and certification experience
  • Professional, strong problem-solving skills, analytical and process driven

Your salary package will include a base salary of up to $90K + $18K car allowance + Super + bonus. You will be an integral part of the team and will be the WHS champion.
