Senior Reliability Engineer

Work Location: Christmas Creek

Roster: 8D6R FIFO ex Perth

The Senior Reliability Engineer role reports to the OPF Engineering & Reliability Superintendent and is responsible for leading and mentoring a team of engineers to develop, implement and sustain the plant reliability improvement strategy and systems. This will also include but is not limited to delivering reliability improvement projects, conducting root cause analyses and managing other reliability improvement related actions.

Key accountabilities will include:

  • Provide effective supervision and management of fixed plant reliability engineering personnel
  • Displays a positive attitude and ensures the engineering & reliability team cooperates accordingly
  • Ensures employees have or acquire the skills and knowledge they need to fulfil their current role competently and develop new skills in the team as appropriate
  • Ensure that a system is in place to ensure that all life saving choices, major hazard reduction programs, procedures, processes and SWIs specific to the engineering & reliability team are complied with and understood
  • Displays effective safety leadership both practically and technically
  • Implement and sustain the fixed plant reliability improvement strategy and supporting systems
  • Prioritisation of engineering & reliability improvement projects and work for the wider engineering team members reporting to senior
  • Facilitate reliability reporting, adhering to reliability reporting KPI's and delivering incremental performance improvements
  • Responsible for improvements in wear management performance, measured by asset cost and reliability
  • The prioritization and implementation of major reliability improvement projects
  • Evaluate and conduct engineering studies to develop a production optimization vs investment strategy plan

Qualifications and skills required:
  • Minimum of 5 years site based, Fixed Plant or Rotating Equipment Maintenance engineering experience on a mine site
  • Proven ability to coach, mentor and train team members
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven high quality Root Cause Analysis conducted
  • Excellent planning and logistic skills
  • Proficient user in SAP
  • Complex problem solving
  • Budget Management
  • Experience in lean (or equivalent) is desirable
  • University engineering qualification (Mechanical or Electrical preferable)
