This large utilities organisation is seeking a Domain Architect, who will be a key member and trusted advisor of a dedicated IT Team and will also have a direct working relationship with the Enterprise Architecture team.

Proactively collaborating closely with business stakeholders, the wider IT team and external vendor & partners, to achieve immediate and long-term business outcomes through modern technology.As the business transitions through significant market transformation, this role is pivotal to delivering fit-for-purpose digital strategies and architectures that both enable and accelerate this transition in conjunction with agile delivery methods. As a key technical advisor, the role ensures alignment between business strategies, transformation activities, architectural standards and technology directions & opportunities.

To Be Successful In This Role You Must Have

  • Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or similar
  • TOGAF Certification (or similar)
  • Cloud certifications (Azure, AWS, CompTIA etc) also well regarded
  • 5+ years of relevant demonstrable experience in an architecture role preferably in the commodity/energy/financial trading and/or utility retail/b2b markets in agile delivery (Industry or Tech supplier is fine),
  • 5+ years working experience in latest industry solutions and cloud/XaaS technologies
  • Consulting Mindset - with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels, translate business needs, apply business context to technical solutions, and easily articulate the benefits of both structured and incremental technology change to deliver business value
  • Experience in architecting and designing solutions involving modern data integration, cloud services and API-led Microservices architecture (API protocols, API policies, design, publish, version, secure, document APIs)
  • Experience in working to design standards and principles to develop architectural artefacts such as: capability maps, statement of works, technology blueprints, roadmaps (Strategic, Sunset, Tooling etc) and solution designs
  • Good understanding of both OLTP and OLAP databases, data warehousing, datamarts, data structures and data solutions
  • Solid experience in interface analysis and design for complex software systems environments
  • Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Design and Object-Oriented Programming Concepts
  • Ability to assess rapidly changing and emerging technologies and apply them to business needs.
  • Exceptional critical thinking and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Strong team player
  • Solid understanding of Agile principles and DevOps practices
