About the role and you:
AARRB is seeking a Mid to Senior level engineer with knowledge on sustainability, recycled materials in road construction and waste management within the transport industry to join our Sydney based team. The successful candidates must be proactive, take full accountability and truly be passionate about making a difference within the transportation industry.

Our vacancies:
Our ideal Transport Sustainability Practitioner/ Engineer candidate:

  • has 7+ years relevant road infrastructure experience with a good understanding of infrastructure sustainability, resilience and materials performance specifications and standards
  • has a Bachelors’ or higher qualification in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering or related engineering and science areas
  • is passionate in developing and contributing to projects related to sustainable and recycled pavement materials, waste management and environment management
  • has exceptional analytical skills and problem-solving capabilities, including designing laboratory studies and field trials and interpreting their results accurately and concisely
  • has a good understanding of government sustainability polices, environmental regulations and technical, and safety risks associated with the use of recycled materials.
  • has a strong track record of leading the delivery of projects to agreed scope, budget, quality and timetable requirements
  • has highly developed interpersonal skills that allow constructive conversations with a range of public and private sector stakeholders, clients, partners, and colleagues.
  • has a growing track record of writing compelling, successful proposals and business cases and maintaining ongoing relationships with those customers

Have an edge with:

  • experience in environmental laboratory work, and contaminated land remediation
  • climate change risk assessment experience, particularly around infrastructure
  • field experience in a rating system such as ISCA, Greenstar, LEED, WELL etc.
  • skills or qualification we haven’t mentioned but which has helped you be successful to date
