JOB DESCRIPTION

MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan, design, organise and oversee civil construction of roads, carparks, public domain, streetscaping, landscaping, retaining walls, service pipelines and other civil engineering projects.
  • Provide technical civil engineering expertise on a wide variety of residential, commercial, and industrial projects.
  • Determine construction methods, materials, and quality standards.
  • Draft and interpret specifications, drawings, plans, construction methods and procedures.
  • Develop concept and assist in detailed engineering designs for pavement works.
  • Coordinate and liaise with clients, builders, project managers and developers to ensure timely delivery of projects.
  • Organise and direct site labour and the delivery of construction materials, plant, and equipment, and establish detailed programs for the coordination of site activities.
  • Obtain soil and rock samples at different depths across sites.
  • Test samples to determine strength, compressibility and other factors that affect the behaviour of soil and rock when a structure is imposed and determine the safe loading for the soil.
  • Site set out using total station and CAD pro.
  • Study architectural and engineering drawings and specifications to estimate total costs and prepare detailed cost plans and estimates.
  • Prepare bills of quantities and conducting take off for pricing.
  • Identify and seek new tender opportunities.
  • Prepare tenders, including quantity surveying, quoting all necessary trade subcontractor services, pricing materials for project construction and recommending costs for bids.
  • Analysing and understanding Requests for Tenders (RFTs), plans, amendments and other documentation to determine the scope for work and content for preparing time, cost, schedules, materials, RFI's, design and subcontractors.
  • Advising, implementing, and providing proposal strategy to deliver a tender proposal meeting the client requirements and most cost effective.
  • Providing support and assistance to management and staff on procurement, purchasing, tender documentation and current jobs.
  • Supporting quality processes and procedures for different projects in addition to the quality assurance team.
  • Collaborating with Subcontractors quotation process for all ongoing projects;
  • Attending site meeting or inspection, if required;

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

Qualifications: Bachelor of Civil Engineering

Experience: Minimum 3 years’ experience

 Degree in Civil Engineering and accreditation with Engineers Australia.

  •  +3 Years of post-graduate experience in industrial and commercial projects
  • Familiar with Microsoft Project, COSTX program and CAD.
  • Ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines while maintaining attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to build effective working relationships
  • Knowledge of relevant Australian standards and legislation
  • Ability to work independently and engage and collaborate with teams
  • Solve problems and provide solutions that allow the team to deliver high quality services to our clients
  • Quantity surveying knowledge
