About the Division

An Information Security within the Bank leverages a business driven-risk based approach. The Information Security Testing and Assurance service enables and supports business objectives, with controls that are practical and provide real, measurable risk management. This is achieved by working with the business to understand the objectives, operating and regulatory environment, potential threats, risk impacts, operational flexibility, and resilience. Only then can information security risk be managed efficiently, effectively and within risk appetite.

To provide effective information security testing services for the Bank your position will provide support and leadership to the Security Practice, driving the continuous improvement of the services.

About the role

As the Application Security Engineer at Bendigo and Adelaide Bank you will join the Information Security Practice to participate in setting up the right tools, processes, training and consulting to allow the Bank to identify and prevent exposure creeping into the BABL product lines before being released in production.

As a part of the role, you will coordinate security activities related to the DevSecOps pipeline which will include vendor management, training and documentation. In addition, you will participate in the development and execution of the application security testing program that will align with the Bank’s risk management framework and business strategy.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Maintain and continually develop the tools that enable our development service teams to automatically detect and then remediate security issues
  • Continually engage with development teams and stakeholders to provide support and training
  • Ensure service teams are enabled by determining the appropriate controls that need be implemented in code or the hosting environment
  • Assist development teams in the triage, and false positive management of SAST/SCA/DAST tooling
  • In collaboration with Domain Leads, Product Owners and Developers articulate the overall risk of product lines
  • Govern the coverage and efficacy of security awareness and security tooling within the development teams
  • Management of the security testing tools used by the Bank’s security testing services
  • Participate in application security testing and support of information security control testing, vulnerability and penetration testing, and oversight of compliance to manage information security risk

About you:

  • Demonstrated experience in a security, release management, development role, risk or compliance role.
  • Relevant experience with security products and concepts
  • Proven ability in the use of Static and Dynamic Analysis testing tools and the implementation within CI/CD pipelines
  • Familiar with container technologies (Docker/Kubernetes and use of cloud services
  • Experience with design, development and implementation of management frameworks, standards, processes and procedures
  • Practical experience with development of policies and principles
  • Preferred – understanding of key AGILE concepts and/or experience with leading or operating in an AGILE environment
  • Strong communication skills – written and verbal
  • Strong ability to foster and maintain key relationships with technology and business stakeholders
