Your Opportunity

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a passionate, quality driven, Senior Drafter / Designer to join our growing Queensland Planning and Mobility Business working within our industry leading Intelligent Transport team (We have offices at the Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast and in Brisbane). A strong background in major infrastructure civil and electrical / ITS projects would be highly desirable. We are seeking an established professional who can lead and drive quality within design documentation and output large drawing sets on major infrastructure projects. 


Main Activities and Responsibilities: (including but not limited to)

· Lead drafting and manage drawings for complex drafting projects. Experience with previous ITS projects would be considered a bonus

· Manage a team of junior drafters on complex projects.

· Drive quality within drawing sets for complex drafting projects.

· Mentor individuals within drafting team.

· General drafting office duties & Preparing drawings for issue.

· Plan and manage own work and others to meet deadline and budgets.

· Input to fee estimates

· Liaise with external parties in relation to drawing inputs and standards.

· Actively participate in knowledge sharing and learning opportunities including a focus on emerging technologies and Digital Engineering

· Assist in the development of existing and new engineering software, tools and best practice procedures

Experience, skills and organisational knowledge:

· Typically, 6+ years’ experience working with TMR design and drafting standards.

· Experience with Intelligent Transport and Electrical projects

· Proficient operator of AutoCAD and/or Microstation.

· Ability to lead and manage a drafting team on a complex or large scale project.

· Ability to compile drawings required for a set of complex project drawings.

· Knowledge of Quality Assurance and responsibilities for certification compliance to Australian Standards.

· Strong knowledge of Australian Standards and Codes.

· Experience in Tender design and Design and Construct projects is preferable.

· Excellent communication and collaboration skills

· Knowledge of scripts or lisps will be highly regarded.

· TAFE qualification; Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Civil and Structural Engineering.
