Job Title: Industrial Calibration Engineer
Reports to: Laboratories Manager
Position Location: Scoresby Melbourne
Full Time Permanent

How will you make an impact?
You will be responsible for the calibration and repair of industrial and other instruments in support of the ANZ customer base inclusive of all markets and products served. This role’s primary focus will be on service, repair and calibration of pressure, electrical, temperature and POVA instruments. This role requires the employee to work under the supervision of a NATA signatory to ensure all NATA accreditations are met. At times, this role may be managed by other management in the organization.

What will you do?

  • Communicate with internal and external customers on the progress of instrument calibration, maintenance and repairs.
  • Meet and exceed the minimum job turnaround time for customers based on the service level agreement
  • Calibrate, maintain and repair instruments according to QA and NATA accreditation
  • Assist the service organization in meeting their revenue target through the completion of calibration, maintenance and repair activities
  • Continual process improvements and organizational efficiencies by working effectively with customers and stakeholders
  • Foster a partnership with Thermo Fisher Scientific’s customers by providing them with advice and technical support
  • Actively engage and support Thermo Fisher’s commercial team to achieve sales and margin (gross) targets by providing them with customer feedback and customer opportunities
How will you get here?

Education Skills And Experience
  • Tertiary or Trade qualification in Electrical/Instrumentation discipline would be advantageous
  • Experience in a technical support role is a must
  • Knowledge of equipment within the portfolio and experience in the use of, calibration and repairs of electrical, pressure and / or temperature calibrators.
  • Demonstrated experience in a laboratory or other quality regulated environment
  • Good manual dexterity and the ability to perform in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to create and foster meaningful and beneficial partnerships with our customers, suppliers and peers
