Our client has asked DFP Recruitment to source a suitably qualified and experienced Building Services Project Engineer for an immediate start, 6 month assignment with the possibility of extension, based in East Perth.

The successful individual would be responsible for:

Technical and Supervision

  • Reviews and approves contractors and consultant’s proposed designs and modifications of systems for new and existing building services infrastructure.
  • Ensures all new designs and modifications of systems are in accordance and compliance with Australian Standards and the clients Standards, such as, AS/NZS 3000:(latest version) Wiring Rules
Specifications and Design Guidelines, WA Electrical Requirements, Electricity Regulations and the Electricity Act.
  • Organises and oversees testing and commissioning of new and established installations to ensure safety and compliance with applicable Regulatory requirements.
  • Provides professional technical guidance, advice and corporation to internal and external stakeholders on matters.
  • Investigates and reports on all incidents including, Incident Fault Reporting System (IFRS), and Site Safe databases.
  • Prepares Maintenance Strategies and contributes to the overall Maintenance Plan for the Facilities & Infrastructure Team.
Project/Contract Management
  • Manages high value and high risk projects, coordinates and plans in house teams and/or contractors undertaking design and/or construction of installations within the clients network.
  • Monitors and directs for compliance to approved specifications, budgets, time and quality.
  • Reviews technical specifications and tender documents.
Liaison and Customer Service
  • Liaises with functional and operational areas and other relevant government agencies as required.
  • Liaises with contractors employed on behalf of the client.
Other Duties
  • Represents the Branch at meetings as required including other duties as directed.
  • Carries out as required, such work related tasks and functions that are within the limits of the employee’s skills, competence and training.
