The Opportunity

  • Experienced fundraising team – collaborative, learning, fun environment
  • Resourced by prospect identification and proposal writing teams
  • $97,381 - $105,395 + 17% super + leave loading

As UNSW moves toward the public phase of a campaign, you will manage a personal portfolio of approximately 100 qualified prospects to cultivate and solicit major gifts ($50,000+) in support of the University’s fundraising priorities across the faculties of Engineering and Science. Key to success will be your collaboration with UNSW Researchers, Faculty Leadership, Alumni and Development colleagues to develop and deliver a compelling case for support and solicit gifts and pledges to support the annual philanthropy target and campaign goal.

Skills And Experience

You can demonstrate your experience in fundraising and donor relations, as well as:
  • Ability to articulate a case for support for the organisation’s priorities and personally solicit and close commitments of $10,000+.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and ability to establish collaborative and sustainable relationships with stakeholders including alumni, prospects, and donors and colleagues and leaders of UNSW.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including ability to write persuasively and present complex information in a clear and compelling way.
  • Superior organisational skills, high level of attention to detail, commitment to excellence and proven ability to establish and realise objectives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and build support and commitment for projects.
  • Proven ability to show initiative and think creatively and independently.
  • Strong knowledge of the principles of fundraising and tax laws that impact charitable giving, personal assets and estates.
  • An understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
  • Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training
