A new opportunity has become available for a Senior Quality Engineer to work as part of our Cochlear Brisbane Operations Quality division based in Newstead. In this permanent role, you will be responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance across the Quality Management System (QMS) and products by partnering with stakeholders. The role support problem solving processes, participates in QMS, product, and process continuous improvement activities, produces and analyses metrics and reporting, as well as developing and delivering training to employees.

Accountabilities include:

  • Supporting non-conformance processes, providing standards and direction and leading corrective and preventative activities
  • Conducting regular audits and implementing improvements to the QMS processes
  • Reviewing product related and manufacturing and logistics process changes
  • Producing and analysing key performance metrics and data, ensuring timely delivery of periodic reports and scheduled activities
  • Synthesising QMS and regulatory requirements into appropriate and effective training content, developing blending learning solutions, and delivering relevant training for process changes and improvements

You bring:

To add value to Cochlear in this role you'll be able to demonstrate the following skills, experience and attributes:

  • Knowledge of medical device regulations and QMS (ISO 13485)
  • Previous Quality experience in a target-based manufacturing environment
  • High-level communication and influencing skills
  • Ability to work both autonomously and cross-functionally, in a collaborative environment
  • An Engineering Degree (Mechanical, Quality, Industrial, Biomedical, Electronic, or equivalent)
  • A drive for consistency, standards, and accurate and complete documentation
  • Application of risk-based methodologies to identify solutions to issues
  • Highly developed audit capability and knowledge in reviewing process against defined regulation
