About the role

Reporting to the DevOps Manager, the Security Engineer is responsible for ensuring the organisational systems stability and compliance against relevant cyber security legislation, regulations and associated frameworks and policies and procedures. This will include responsibility for implementing ICT security in accordance with the Australian Cyber Security Centre Information Security Manual (ACSC ISM).

This is a technical role covering network, infrastructure, and cloud technologies. Frequent collaboration with cross functional stakeholders within the VEC, including business and technical staff will be required to successfully carry out the responsibilities of this role.

We have two permanent positions available.

About you

Our ideal candidate has a high level of expertise and experience in cyber security best practices and controls gained through relevant qualifications or certifications and/or relevant industry experience.

Associate or higher certification from either Cisco or Microsoft (e.g. Cisco Certified Network Associate, Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate) or other industry qualifications would be highly desirable.

We are looking for somebody with outstanding problem-solving skills and an ability to collaborate and engage with stakeholders to deliver outcomes. You will be highly organised and have experience performing in a high-pressure environment with rigid timelines.

Importantly, you have an innovative and learning mindset and you regularly keep up to date with emerging technologies, trends and best practice.
