About The Role

Our Network Operations team is seeking an experienced Network Operations Engineer to provide expert electricity network advice to enable safe and secure planned and unplanned outages for both transmission and distribution networks while maximising the security and reliability of electricity supply to our customers.

The Network Operations Engineer provides network analysis support and advice to Control Rooms, Network Operations team members, Incident Managers and stakeholders. The person will assist or undertake the derivation and management of information for Network Operations accountabilities including Network analysis and STPIS in collaboration with Network Operations team members.

Help us manage the Tasmanian electricity network, deliver our Plan of Work and forecast Transmission and Distribution STPIS outcomes through stakeholder relationships, use of TasNetworks GIS tools, SCADA, network analysis and information management systems. Help ensure secure network operations by developing or undertaking due diligence of TasNetworks limit advice prior to submission to AEMO.

The person will play a critical role in the delivery of Network Operations accountabilities.

About You

With a tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering and a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a related field, you are ready to step into the role and make an impact. The ability to build and maintain networks to achieve the Business Plan and sound understanding of power system control, protection schemes and the power industry regulatory framework. Demonstrated technical competency, application and maturity in approach to problem solving and familiarity in use of PSSE, SinCal or similar network analysis programs as well as an understanding of Real time power system control tools such as EMS and DMS.
