The fundamental purpose of the Senior End User Compute (SEC) Engineer role is to ensure BAI Communications users have excellent device experiences. This involves a range of activities including understanding business needs, designing, and implementing technical solutions, and providing expert support and maintenance services.
You work with a diverse range of technologies making collaboration, cross-training and learning an important part of the role. You will maintain a customer-focused mindset and strive to understand things from the perspective of users whilst at the same time maintaining your technical competency and expertise.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Work with the Group Manager, Technology Solutions to identify and understand business needs with respect to end-user devices and environments
  • Work with the Group Manager, Technology and Security Architecture to select appropriate technologies to support, maintain and secure end-user devices and environments.
  • Closely collaborate with market Information Technology teams to support their provision of first and second level support services for end-user devices.
  • Provide expert third level support services for end-user devices including software and hardware investigations.
  • Manage suppliers who provide specialist end-user device support services
  • Play a leading role in managing group-wide device catalogues and the associated supplier relationships.
  • Undertake maintenance and configuration activities for systems and tools associated with end-user devices.
  • Design and implement end-user device solutions that meet business needs including productivity, architecture, security, and compliance.
  • Perform SOE updates in SCCM for major and minor operating system version upgrades, driver, firmware and application upgrades for desktops, laptops and tablets.
  • Complete application packaging and deployment tasks, and deployment of software updates
  • Design, implement and maintain end-user device licence management capabilities to be used by markets.
  • Adhere to Group IT processes including incident, problem, change, and project management.
  • Proactively work to improve BAI's systems, processes, procedures, and standards for end-user devices including the development of documentation where relevant.
  • Support the process of knowledge sharing within Group IT by positively guiding other team members for your areas of expertise.
  • Provide effective communication to stakeholders for all aspects of your work.
  • Implement and support application management controls, including application packaging, in response to business needs.

    You're an expert in device hardware and software and have a passion for creating excellent device UX. You have extensive experience with Microsoft Endpoint Manager (InTune and Autopilot), SCCM, and application packaging.
    You have a growth mindset, focused on innovation and continual learning. You actively seek out opportunities to improve how we do things. You are customer focused, and a champion for excellent end user experiences. You work to understand the needs of users across the BAI group and enjoy working in a high-performing, collaborative team.

    Your technical skills include:
  • Extensive experience with end-user device management using Microsoft cloud and on-premises tools such as Endpoint manager and SCCM.
  • Expert in Windows, MacOS, iOS, and Android operating systems and hardware
  • Extensive experience building operating environments and with application packaging
  • Experience with ITIL based processes
